After a 70-year absence, professional women’s baseball returns with the Women’s Pro Baseball League (WPBL). Tryouts for the inaugural season, starting in 2026, will be held in August with over 600 women vying for 150 spots. Co-founded by Justine Siegal, the first woman to coach in the MLB, the WPBL aims to create opportunities for female athletes and inspire younger generations. The league signals a resurgence of women’s professional baseball and reflects growing investment in women’s sports.
